French press, also known as a cafetière, cafetière à piston, Cafeteria, press pot, coffee press, or coffee plunger, is a coffee brewing device invented by Paolini Ugo and patented by Italian designer Attilio Calimani and Giulio Moneta in 1929.The French Press is the perfect low-maintenance brew method for lazy Saturday mornings.
Done right, it produces a creamy-bodied coffee.

WHAT YOU NEED

  1. French Press
  2. Water just off the Boil
  3. Coarsely Ground Coffee
  4. Carafe or Mug

STEP 1

Weigh out your coffee and water. We recommend using 71g per litre of water i.e. for 500ml, use 35.5g, for 300ml use 21.4g etc.

STEP 2

Add the coffee to the french press & pour the water quickly, ensuring all the grounds are soaked.

STEP 3

After 4 minutes stir the grounds then plunge the press. Decant the coffee into a carafe and serve. Enjoy!
