Ethiopia - Muda Tatesa
Ethiopia - Muda Tatesa
Ethiopia is referred as the birthplace of coffee since Coffea arabica’s origin goes back to Ethiopia’s Southwestern Highlands and contiguous region of South Sudan.
The flavours of Ethiopian coffees are notably diverse – from citrusy and floral to candied fruits and ripe tropical fruits.
The washed coffees tend to be elegant, complex and delicious. The ones with a natural process can be wildly fruity.

More Information On This Coffee
This coffee was grown in the Goru Muda sub-area of Harsu aro Muda kebele, or village, in the Guji growing region of Ethiopia by local smallholder producers. Producers in the area are part of a growing association overseen by Welichu Wachu Industry PLC, which also operates the wet mill at Muda Tatesa at which this coffee was processed. Welichu Wachu Industry PLC works with producers in eight different kebele associations across the Uraga woreda, or district, in Guji, and operates four different processing facilities in the region as well.
This coffee underwent Natural processing. After harvest, cherries are delivered to the washing station at Muda Tatesa, which is approximately
¾ km from the Goru Muda village. Cherries are floated to separate debris and under- or over-ripe cherries. After sorting, cherries are sun-dried
to a humidity of 11% before being milled and prepared for export.
