Fazenda Jaguara, in Campo das Vertentes, Brazil, was founded in 2001 by agronomist Antonio Wander and two colleagues. In 2013, his son André Luiz and Natália took over the 90-hectare farm and began pushing it in a new direction — one rooted in sustainability and a deep respect for the land.
Over the last six years, the farm has achieved an 80% reduction in agrochemical use through a set of deliberate, interconnected practices. They grow naturally pest-resistant varietals — including Yellow Catuai 24-137, Yellow Catuai 2-SL, Acauã, and Arara — and use careful pruning techniques that allow sunlight to penetrate the plants, naturally breaking pest cycles. Biodiversity is actively encouraged both within the crops and in the soil, attracting natural predator insects and enriching the land with natural fertilisers.
Beyond coffee, the farm cultivates other crops and keeps native bee colonies — using them both to increase pollination and as natural indicators of the absence of harmful insecticides. It's a farming philosophy where everything works together, and the results speak for themselves.

The largest coffee producer and exporter in the world also stands out for its quality. The large extensions of Brazil allow for diversified growing areas with complex drink characteristics.
Most of Brazilian coffees tend to be low in acidity, heavy in body and sweet, often with chocolate and nutty flavours. However, there’s such diversity when it comes to terroirs and micro-climates that we are starting to see more often than before high quality coffees that challenge this standard.
